Hello, my name is Rufus'. I am a two and half year old Great Dane. I currently live in Lawrence, Kansas with my mom and dad. I was born into an 'unfortunate situation', but my brothers, sisters, and cousins and I were seized by the Oklahoma Humane Society, and fostered with the Oklahoma Great Dane Rescue Association. My mom saw an article about our seizure and put in an application to adopt me when I was just three months old.
On January 13th, 2001, my mom travelled to Oklahoma City, with my big sister, Willow, to come pick me up. From then on I lived with her and Willow in Lawrence, Kansas. My Grandma and Grandpa live close by, so I get to spend almost everyday with them too.
Three weeks after I came to live with Mom, she adopted an abused 9 year old cat named Smokey. She and I get along...most of the time...but she scares me a little.
In August of 2001, Mom, Willow, Smokey and I moved moved into a nice big house with a big back yard, and a guy named Phil. He's pretty cool. He and Mom are getting married in March 2004.
Mom and Dad are telling us that a surprise is coming in July...something about a new baby brother...Grandma says I'm in for the shock of my life...I'm supposed to be the baby!
I enjoy long walks, howling at fire engines, dinner and breakfast, peanut butter cups (the white chocolate kind, because, apparently, real chocolate is bad for doggies), rawhide bones, chew toys, and anything my sister has. I love to snuggle under the covers, and sleeping late in the morning. Musically, I am a big fan of Frank Sinatra, and the rap acts The Notorius P.U.P., and Snopp Dogg. And, of course, the theme to Scooby Doo. My favourite movies are Snow Dogs, Cats and Dogs, and Lady and the Tramp (you can't beat the classics!). I also enjoy watching Animal Planet, but that Steve Irwin is nuts!
